For the print journal, we run two to four brief book reviews per issue. We prefer to review first and second books by former Ploughshares contributors, or by new or less established authors, especially those from smaller presses. Additionally, our advisory editors contribute short blurbs about recommended books for our “Editors’ Shelf” column. These reviews and blurbs are also posted on our website, where Ploughshares authors are free to make their own book recommendations online.
