Celebrate Ploughshares’ 50th Anniversary
Join us on Thursday, October 21 at 7:00pm EST for a virtual reception to celebrate Ploughshares 50th Anniversary.
This virtual gala will celebrate our history, contributors, readers, and donors, and will feature many of our beloved guest editors, in conversation with each other. Appearing on-screen will be: Aimee Bender, Laura van den Berg, Alice Hoffman, Jamel Brinkley, Claire Messud, Mario Alberto Zambrano, Tom Perrotta, Margot Livesey, John Skoyles, DeWitt Henry, Don Lee, and Ladette Randolph with brief appearances from past guest editors.
Please purchase a ticket below by clicking on your preferred ticket level to access the virtual gala. Ticket holders will receive a link to register for the live Zoom event via email. Can’t attend? Our event will be recorded and sent to ticket holders at the conclusion of the event. A portion of all ticket sales will go towards the Ploughshares Anniversary Fund, established to allow Ploughshares to pay writers in perpetuity; your donation will be tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Select tickets also include a limited edition Ploughshares’ 50th Anniversary mug, a Ploughshares tote bag, a subscription to the journal, and recognition of your gift on the Ploughshares website and during the virtual gala. Additionally, in conjunction with Selected Shorts, a live event, radio show, and podcast produced by the New York City-based performing arts organization Symphony Space, ticket holders at the $75 level and above will also receive tickets—for virtual or in-person access—to a special night of readings celebrating the work published in Ploughshares.
