Alice Munro has published 14 short story collections over 44 years as a fiction writer. She is the first female Canadian writer to have been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature (2013). In honor of this prize, the Royal Canadian Mint released a silver collector's coin featuring a passage from her story The View from Castle Rock.
