Andrew Foster Altschul is the author of the novels Lady Lazarus (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2008) and Deus Ex Machina (Counterpoint, 2011), and an O. Henry Prize winner. He was the founding books editor of The Rumpus and currently directs the Center for Literary Arts at San José State University.
