Belle Waring's first collection of poems, Refuge, was cited by Publishers Weekly as a "Best Book" of 1990. Her latest book is Dark Blonde (Sarabande), and she is editor of River Hope, an anthology written and illustrated by her students at Children's National Medical Center, where she is Writer-in-Residence.
