chris offutt is the author of two books of short stories, Out of the Woods and Kentucky Straight. He has also published a novel, The Good Brother, and a memoir, The Same River Twice. The recipient of a Whiting Writer's Award and a Guggenheim Fellowship, he is currently teaching at the Iowa Writers' Workshop.
