D. Nurkse’s twelfth book of poetry, A Country of Strangers, a “new and selected,” was published by Knopf in April of 2022. He currently teaches in the MFA program at Sarah Lawrence College. He has also taught poetry at Rikers Island and worked for human rights organizations.
