Dani Shapiro is the author of the memoirs Devotion (Harper, 2010) and Slow Motion (Random House, 1998), and five novels, including Black & White (Anchor, 2008) and Family History (Knopf, 2003). Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, Tin House, One Story, n+1, Vogue, Elle, and The New York Times Book Review. She has taught most recently in the graduate writing program at Brooklyn College. Her new book, Still Writing, will be published by Grove/Atlantic in 2013.
