David Gewanter is author of three poetry books, War Bird, The Sleep of Reason, and In the Belly (all from U. Chicago Press) and co-editor of Robert Lowell: Collected Poems (FSG & Faber).  Recent work appears in Tikkun, Western Humanities Review, Agni, and Times Higher Education (UK).   Awards include the John Zacharis, Witter Bynner, Whiting, and James Laughlin (finalist).  His new poetry manuscript is Fort Necessity.  He teaches at Georgetown.
