Gerald Stern's last book of selected poems, Blessed As We Were: Late Selected and New Poems, 2000—2018, was published in 2020 by W.W. Norton. His most recent book was Odd Mercy, also from Norton. He retired from the Iowa Writers' Workshop and worked as a professor for Drew University's MFA program in poetry until his passing.
