James Bertolino's eighth volume of poems, Snail River, was published in 1995 in the Quarterly Review of Literature poetry series. Other books include First Credo, New & Selected Poems, and Precinct Kali & The Gertrude Spicer Story. He received his M.F.A. from Cornell, teaches at Western Washington University, and lives on Guemes Island, Washington.
