Jess Walter is the author of eight books, most recently the story collection We Live in Water (Harper Perennial, 2013) and the novel Beautiful Ruins (HarperCollins Publishers, 2012), a No. 1 New York Times bestseller. Walter was a finalist for the 2006 National Book Award, won the 2005 Edgar Allan Poe Award, and has been a PEN/USA finalist in both fiction and nonfiction. His work has been published in thirty languages and his short fiction has appeared twice in Best American Short Stories, in Harpers, Tin House, Esquire, and elsewhere.
