Joan Murray has contributed fiction, poetry, and memoir to The Atlantic, Harper’s, The Nation, The New York Times, The Hudson Review, and The Paris Review. Her five poetry volumes include Swimming for the Ark: New and Selected Poems, 1990-2015 and Queen of the Mist, a novel-in-verse, for which she received a Broadway commission. Former Writer in Residence at the New York State Writers Institute, she’s the editor of The Pushcart Book of Poetry, and has just assembled a story collection.
