Maria Lioutaia’s fiction has recently appeared in One Story, Tin House, Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading, Conjunctions, and Gulf Coast, among others. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from New York University, where she was a Goldwater Fellow. Her last name means “fierce” in Russian.
