Mark Turpin’s Hammer, published by Sarabande Books (2003), received Ploughshares’ Zacharis First Book Award. His poems have aired on PBS News Hour for Labor Day and Garrison Keillor’s Writer’s Almanac. Publications include The Paris Review, The Threepenny Review, and many anthologies. He received a Whiting Award in 1997. He’s been a carpenter for 35 years.
