Patricia Goedicke

Patricia Goedicke is the author of 12 books of poetry, the most recent of which, As Earth Begins to End, Copper Canyon Press, 2000, was recognized by the American Library Association as one of the year's top ten poetry books. She has taught poetry writing in the Creative Writing Department of the University of Montana for 20 years now,and has been named one of its "Distinguished Scholars". A recipient of many awards for her poetry, among them a Rockefeller Residency at its Villa Serbelloni in Italy, she continues to teach one graduate poetry workshop a year at the University. Among her most recent awards are the Chad Walsh Poetry Prize for 2002 from Beloit Poetry Journal and in 2003, the H.G. Merriam Prize for Distinguished Contributions to Montana Literature.
