The Fall 1976 issue of Ploughshares, guest-edited by Paul Hannigan. Ploughshares, a journal of new writing, is guest-edited serially by prominent writers who explore different personal visions, aesthetics, and literary circles. 

This edition features works from respected writers and poets, including future Ploughshares guest editor Russell Banks (Affliction, The Darling), former guest editor Fanny Howe (Radical Love), Paul Metcalf (Apalache), William Corbett (Elegies for Michael Gizzi), and Andrew Salkey (Jamaica Symphony).
