Kayo Chingonyi was born in Zambia in 1987 and moved to Britain with his family in 1993. His chapbook Some Bright Elegance was published by Salt in 2012. He was awarded the 2012 Geoffrey Dearmer Prize by The Poetry Society (UK) and shortlisted for the inaugural Brunel University African Poetry Prize. He is a graduate of the universities of Sheffield and London and a fellow of the Complete Works program for Black and Asian poets.
