W. N. Herbert was born in Dundee in 1961, and is currently Professor of Poetry and Creative Writing at Newcastle University. He is also Dundee’s first Makar, or City Laureate. He is mostly published by Bloodaxe Books, including the two parallel volumes of Omnesia (2013), a Poetry Book Society Recommendation.
