Peter Balakian is the author of 7 books of poems and 4 books of prose.  His recent books are Ozone Journal (poems) and Vise and Shadow: Essays on the Lyric Imagination, Poetry, Art, and Culture both published by The University of Chicago Press in 2015. His memoir Black Dog of Fate won the PEN/Albrand Prize. He directs the Creative Writing Program at Colgate University.
