Bruce Beasley is the author of Signs and Abominations (Wesleyan, 2000), Summer Mystagogia (selected by Charles Wright for the 1996 Colorado Prize in Poetry), The Creation (winner of the 1993 Ohio State University Press/Journal Award), and Spirituals(Wesleyan, 1988). He is a professor of English at Western Washington University. His work has appeared recently in Kenyon Review, Fence, Denver Quarterly, Field, and the 2000 Pushcart Prize anthology. He is a native of Macon, Georgia.
