Samrat Upadhyay is the author of a new story collection, The Royal Ghosts (Houghton Mifflin, 2006). His previous collection, Arresting God in Kathmandu (2001), won a Whiting Writer's Award, and his novel, The Guru of Love (2003), was a Kiriyama Prize finalist and a New York Times Notable Book.
