Steve Yarbrough is the author of three story collections and four novels, most recently The End of California (Knopf, 2007). A Mississippi native, he teaches at California State University, Fresno, where he is the James and Coke Hallowell Professor of Creative Writing and the director of the school's M.F.A. program.
