James Brown is the author of several novels and The Los Angeles Diaries: A Memoir. His personal essays have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, GQ, The Los AngelesTimes Magazine, and Best American Sports Writing of 2006. He is also the recipient of an NEA fellowship for Fiction.
