Jake Adam York was the author of three books of poems, including A Murmuration of Starlings (Southern Illinois University Press, 2008) and Persons Unknown, published in 2010 by Southern Illinois University Press in the Crab Orchard Series in Poetry. His work was recognized with fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Colorado Council on the Arts, and the University of Mississippi. An associate professor at the University of Colorado Denver, York also edited Copper Nickel. He passed away in December 2012, while this issue was being assembled.
