Paul Buttenwieser is a writer and a psychiatrist. He has published two novels, Free Association (Little, Brown 1981) and Their Pride and Joy (Delacorte Press, 1987) as well as several short stories and book reviews. He is married to Katie Buttenwieser and has three children, Susan, Stephen, and Janet Buttenwieser. He is active in community organizations with an emphasis on homelessness, the arts, and education.
