Tess Gallagher

Tess Gallagher was recently the first American poet to be awarded the prestigious international Fondazione Roma Ritratti di poesia Prize for her Lifetime Achievement in Poetry. Her most recent collection, Is, Is Not, was published May 2019 by Graywolf Press. Other poetry includes Midnight Lantern: New and Selected Poems (Graywolf Press, 2011), Dear Ghosts (Graywolf Press, 2006) and Moon Crossing Bridge (Graywolf Press, 1992). Gallagher’s The Man from Kinvara: Selected Stories is the basis for film episodes under development. She is the literary executor of her late husband, Raymond Carver, and will be the inaugural writer in residence for Port Angeles’s state-of-the-art Field Arts and Events Hall.
