As a nonprofit enterprise, Ploughshares needs the support of individual readers like you to survive. Our mission, we believe, is as necessary today as it was at the journal’s inception — to promote contemporary literature as a vital component of our national culture and character.

Any donation — large or small — will help. Your contribution will be tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law and may be made by check or credit card (we will send you a receipt).

Please join us in our commitment to our writers and to excellence in the literary arts:

  • If you contribute $500 or more, your name will appear on the Patrons page of each issue.
  • Of course, if you wish, your gift will be kept anonymous.

You may designate your gift for:

  • Our Writers' Fund, which will be used solely to pay our writers and guest editors; or
  • Our General Operating Expenses.

Your donation may be made by mailing a check payable to Emerson College, with Ploughshares in the memo area (very important; otherwise, the money will be deposited into the general fund), to the following address:

Development Office
Emerson College
120 Boylston St., 7th Floor
