Jay Rubin teaches Japanese literature at Harvard. In addition to two novels by Soseki Natsume, he translated Haruki Murakami's The Wind-up Bird Chronicle and Norwegian Wood. Harvill Press (UK) published his Haruki Murakami and the Music of Words earlier this year.
