Joanna Trzeciak has been an authorized translator for Wislawa Szymborska since 1989. Her translations have appeared in The New Yorker, The Times Literary Supplement, Poetry, Harper's, The Atlantic Monthly, and The Paris Review. She is currently at work on a collection of her translations of Szymborska's poetry. Her translation of Tomek Tryzna's novel Panna Nikt (Miss Nobody) is scheduled to be published by Doubleday this winter. She is a doctoral student in Russian Literature at the University of Chicago.
