Thomas Kinsella was born in Dublin in 1928. Besides books from Dolmen Press, Dublin, in association with Oxford University Press, and from Wake Forest University Press, he has published translations from the Irish, including the Iron-Age prose epic The Tain (1969) and Poems of the Dispossessed 1600-1900 (1981). He also edited the New Oxford Book of Irish Verse, with all new translations from the Irish in 1986.
