His prose works include Some Americans (University of California Press) and Poetry and Metamorphosis (Cambridge). Also a painter, Tomlinson's graphics appear in Eden (Redcliffe, Bristol). He has recently edited Poems of George Oppen for Cloud, Newcastle upon Tyne.
