Deshawn McKinney is a writer from Milwaukee, WI. His art is grounded in hip-hop and used as a means of exploring liberation and the delicate balance of existence, and he has built with audiences around the world, from Kingston, Jamaica to London, England. He holds an MA in poetry from the University of East Anglia. Deshawn’s work can be found in journals such as Lolwe and Glass. His debut chapbook is father forgive me (Black Sunflowers Poetry Press, 2021).
