Gayl Jones is currently Associate Professor of English and Afro-American Literature at University of Michigan. Her most recent book is Song For Anninho, poetry (Lotus Press, 1981), and The Hermit-Woman, poetry, is Forthcoming (Lotus Press, 1983). Palmares is her third novel.
