Georgi Gospodinov

Georgi Gospodinov (born 1968) is a Bulgarian poet and writer. His debut novel, Natural Novel (1999), was published in twenty-three languages including English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and, most recently, Icelandic. His second novel, The Physics of Sorrow (2012), won several national awards and was a finalist for six international prizes in Italy, Germany, and the US; among the prizes: Premio Strega Europeo, Premio Gregor von Rezzori, and the PEN Translation Prize. The novel has been published in the US (Open Letter Press, 2015), France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, and elsewhere. His latest books are The Invisible Crises (Zhanet 45, 2013) (essays) and And All Turned Moon (Dalkey Archive Press, 2010) (short stories).
