Heidi Lynn Staples received the New Issues Poetry Prize for Guess Can Gallop, her debut collection. Her second book, Dog Girl, will be published by Ahsahta Press. Her work has appeared in Best American Poetry 2004, Denver Quarterly, LIT, Salt Hill and 3rd bed, among others. Co-editor of Parakeet, she teaches writing at Syracuse University.
