Jasmine Sawers is a native of Western New York and attended Binghamton University. She has taught English in the Philippines, and is currently pursuing an MFA at Indiana University. She is interested in the fairy tale and the place of the marginalized in America. In addition to winning the 2012 Ploughshares Emerging Writer's Award in Fiction, her work has been published in Art Voice and Construction.
