Justin Balog is a writer and arts administrator from Beach Park, Ill. He holds a BS in biology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. A recent graduate of the University of Michigan’s Helen Zell Writers’ Program with his MFA in poetry, he has received fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center and the University of Michigan. He currently serves as an assistant editor at Michigan Quarterly Review. This is his first publication.
