Robert Cohen is the author of five books of fiction, among them Amateur Barbarians (Scribner, 2009), Inspired Sleep (Vintage, 2009), and The Varieties of Romantic Experience (Vintage 2002), and the coeditor of a recent anthology, The Writer's Reader (Bloomsbury, 2017). "Roaming Charges" has been excerpted from Evening's Empire, a novel in progress. Cohen teaches at Middlebury College and the Warren Wilson MFA program.
