Shirley Stephenson is a poet and nurse practitioner. She serves as the clinical site director for a health center on Chicago’s West Side, where her clinical work includes treatment for opioid use disorders. She is a doctoral candidate at the University of Illinois Chicago Program for Writers. Recent work has appeared in Michigan Quarterly Review, Fence, the Gettysburg Review, and Lover’s Eye Press.
