Emily Raboteau is the author of The Professor’s Daughter (Picador, 2006) and Searching for Zion: The Quest for Home in the African Diaspora (Atlantic Monthly Press, 2013), winner of a 2014 American Book Award. She teaches creative writing at CUNY and is at work completing a novel about the life of an apartment building in upper Manhattan from the super’s POV.
