International Writing Issue

An issue of Ploughshares from Winter 1985, guest-edited by Stratis Haviaras. Ploughshares, a journal of new writing, is guest-edited serially by prominent writers who explore different personal visions, aesthetics, and literary circles.

This classic issue, guest-edited by poet Stratis Haviaras, features international writing by a number of world masters, including Italo Calvino, Primo Levi, Graham Greene, and Seamus Heaney, with art by Paul Hannigan. It also contains translations of work by Anna Akhmatova, Naguib Mahfouz, Andre Breton, C. P. Cavafy, and many other brilliant writers, past and present, from around the globe.
